Favorite Nail Polishes

Shade: On Location (22)

Shade: You Don't Know Jacques!

Shade: Jaune Pastel (1012)

Right to left: OPI-shade 73. OPI-shade 54

Hey guys! These are the nail polishes I use on a regular basis. I tend to always have something on my nails because, I've found that they get somewhat brittle when I don't. The pale yellow (Jaune Pastel 1012 by Sinful Colors) and the shimmery baby blue (On Location 22 by Elle) are more appropriate for this time of year I think, but I have been using all five shades. The two maroon shades by OPI (54 & 73) are very similar but 73 has warmer tones and is a touch brighter. I like to call You Don't Know Jacques by OPI a slight grey-brown color. Sounds gross, I know, but I have really come to love this shade. It is somewhat muted and goes with everything! It is my go to shade. I tend to put on two coats of all of these shades. With the OPI Maroons, I will occasionally go for three just to make them a touch darker. You probably noticed a small clear bottle. That is Solar Oil. It isn't just for your nails, it can go on your skin too. I really like to use it on my cuticles and nails, just to moisturize and condition them.

Sorry! I didn't have links to the rest...

Outfit Diary April 18, 19 and 20

Monday, April, the 18th

This was a pretty chill day. I knew we were grocery shopping, and a few other errands. Also, I had to go to the doctors' for about an hour. The day was pretty open, and it was so warm! So when I woke up and saw the sun, I knew it was a skirt and messy braid kind of day.

I really like to dress skirts down with cute, loose, whatever kind of tops. The types of tops you just throw on for comfort on homey days.

And like most days, I threw on my worn out oxfords that I love very dearly.

After lunch at a small sandwich shop and bakery, I popped home for jeans and my little Nike Trainers. I was heading out to a food shelf to volunteer for a few hours, and despite the weather, the skirt was now impractical.

(Can you tell I like Hollister?)

This was a travel day. I wanted to be somewhat comfy but not frumpy  or look lazy. It was a sunny and relatively nice day but still a touch chilly.

I wore the same oxfords from the previous day and braided the top section of my hair and pinned it back. My hair was straightened the night before. I like to do it the previous night because it allows it to get a little waviness and curliness back but nothing like my hair after it is washed. I find that this results in more of a natural look.

I kept this outfit on all day, through hours of travel, shopping, chilling out in the hotel room, and our late dinner. The little jacket was warm enough for the evening too.

Shirt- Hollister
Skirt- Abercrombie & Fitch
Jacket- Rue 21
Scarf- Old Navy
Shoes- Old Navy

If you have seen my Forever 21 Haul post, you've seen this blouse. I picked it up the day before whilst shopping. It has a really sweet little collar and I fell in love with it right away. I paired it with a pair of plain black Decree Leggings.

I threw on some comfy grey wool loafers to spend the day walking around Boston and have a cheeky stop at Wagamama for lunch. I made the mistake of not bringing a jacket because it was so sunny and in the 60s but, jeeezz, the wind in Boston is crazy. I froze, so we tried to stay inside as much as possible.

I did the same hair as the previous day, and left it like that for the day. I also kept really minimal makeup and popped a nude lip color that I also picked up in Forever 21 (check out my haul post).

P.S. Sorry this post is literally more than a month late!

My Massive Lip Balm Collection

C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Balm

Softlips-Vanilla

ChapStick Candy Cane

Baby Lips (left to right)-15 Cherry Me, 05 Quenched, 130 Crystal Kiss, 135 Gleaming Coral

Love & Beauty by Forever 21, Sheer Lip Color

EOS: Red: Summer Fruit, Blues: Vanilla Mint, Lemon Drop
Hey guys! So through the past few years I have collected lots of lip balms and I always feel like if I like one in a store I absolutely need to buy it. I also almost always have dry lips, which sucks when I wear lipstick. If you have any good suggestions to get rid of my dry lips, please please leave them in the comments.
C.O. Bigelow- This lemon lip balm is my favorite. I love it so so much. It is creamy and tastes incredible. It's like a sweet lemon. It also just makes my lips feel amazing. I've raved about this lip balm in a few other posts but it is very deserving. It's pretty expensive for a balm in my opinion.
Smooth Lips- This is a vanilla balm. It's a great taste but I feel like it doesn't leave my lips feeling great for very long. For a bit yes, but after it's gone soon after. Because of this I tend to use more so the balm itself is gone more quickly.
Chapstick- This is a Christmas peppermint lip balm. It's the most festive, amazing, Christmassy explosion on your lips. It's very hydrating if you use it consistently...which I don't.
Baby Lips- I really loved these for awhile and I used to have the mint one, but I have fallen out of love with them. I rarely use them. I think this is because they just don't taste as nice. I like that some of them have a color but the crystal ones are so obnoxiously sparkly. I hate that. I really do like the taste of the coral one.
Love & Beauty by Forever 21- These are alright. They aren't great on your lips for hydration or taste but they have a subtle color that it's simple and lovely.
EOS- These were very very popular for awhile and I'm not sure if they are as much now. They have a pretty good taste and are natural. I used to have more but, alas, they have left me. I have found that these don't do anything long-lasting for my lips but they do have a nice taste.

Thank you so so much for reading.

Flannel-Abercrombie & Fitch
Leggings-Forever 21
Slippers-Old Navy

Hey guys! Today was an-early morning-full of classes-winter has returned-kind of day. I woke up to snow...In May. I had classes all day and hadn't gotten much sleep over the weekend. I wanted to be comfy for a Monday like today while still looking like I care about my appearance. This flannel is the softest I have ever found and, tragically, isn't actually flannel. It is over 50% cotton sooo...
I love this outfit for long days. I've worn it multiple times throughout the winter.

Forever 21 Haul

Hey!

So in April, I took a trip for about a week to Boston, Massachusetts. There are some pretty big malls there and that always means some pretty big Forever 21 stores! Personally, I love Forever 21. They have some really cheap basics and good priced trendy and adorable bits. The only thing about this store is that you should never buy jeans from there. I have tried a few times and they're just poor quality, but I've never had any problems with their shorts.

This shirt is a beige/taupe color. It's very light and sheer. You 100% have to wear something under it if you want to hide your bra. It comes down to about the waist of a normal height person, but being 5 feet tall, it's a touch longer. I've found that I really like this collar poking out with a black or grey sweater. The only problem with it that I have found is that when you go to take it off it is full of static and tries to stick to you. It looks great with jeans, leggings, and I really liked it with this little black skirt that is also from Forever 21. It was a really good price and seems to be really sturdy. It was a basic item that I was lacking so I grabbed it and I have nothing but good things to say about it.

I first spotted this lovely little number because of the gorgeous color. And I'm sorry for not linking it. It seems to be out of stock as though it has disappeared from the website. I was completely sold on this when I discovered that it had pockets. And for $15, it felt right. It is a great burnt orange color. The fabric is very light but not the softest.

I bought this sweater along with the following one for something like 50% off. This is in the color blush. It a really really pale pink. I haven't worn this one yet. I find that it is an awkward length. It's too long for a skirt but if I wear it with leggings I feel like my bum is out. It is also really bulky and very square shaped. It makes my body look very wide and I don't typically go for that...

This sweater is a very large, cozy addition that I felt was a necessity. It isn't as thick or heavily knit as the other but it's still really warm. It's a much easier length than the other sweater. Although, I have already gotten a few pulls in the knitting. They were relatively easy to fix, I just pulled them back through the inside of the sweater. The color will be perfect for autumn... too bad it's May. It's a darker burnt orange than the romper but still gorgeous and a deep color.

From left to right: Nude Beige, Plum, Red

From left to right: Plum, Nude Beige, Red
I've really been enjoying these lip colors the past few weeks. They're all very creamy and none of them, I have found, are drying at all. Though, the colors of the products themselves have turned out to be a little different from how they were advertised or packaged. The Nude Beige has turned out to be my favorite. But the Red was in a package that said Red/Orange on it. That one had me really angry because if I had known this was red I would have gone for the Red/Orange. It's just too pink for me. It's alright, just not what I wanted. And the Plum, it's a nice dark pink or fushia, but it doesn't come close to the color it was on the package. Forever 21- Please fix this! I love the formulas just not the colors. I would still buy them, just in different shades. And before you say anything, there were no testers, so it could be my fault for not getting on out to try but they were all packaged. I bought mine in store and the colors options online are different, sorry!   Nude Beige   Plum   Red

Empties of 2015

I've been through quite a few products in the past year. I thought it might be interesting to share my thoughts about them with you guys.

Hair Products

Garnier Fructis Style- Sleek and Shine Anti-Humidity Hairspray
This product lasted me almost a year. I used it along with one other hairspray but still a year. That was pretty great, in my opinion. I have very thick, curly and frizzy hair. It is relatively untameable and, pretty much, is the bane of my existence. I need to use hairspray everyday, no matter what I do with it. This worked as well as any other hairsprays I've used. It wasn't as heavy or crusty when it dries as the Aussie types. I probably would purchase this again as crusty is not an adjective I like for my hair.
Pantene Medium Thick Hair Style Creme
This product makes some hefty promises that it certainly doesn't keep. I bought this so long ago, I don't know if they even sell it anymore. I finally decided to get rid of this because it's useless on my hair. I think it could be meant for people with straight hair that's barely thick. The options were fine, medium thick, and then curly. Limited choices... So I went for medium thick. It says it will straighten and smooth, and it really didn't have any affect on my hair. There was still some left when I got rid of this. Needless to say, I will not be repurchasing.

John Freida Frizz-Ease Curl Bursting Mousse
(Wowowowow that faceee in the photo is hot) This product worked really well for me. Some days my hair goes a frizzy, not curly, huge mess. So I'll pop some mousse in it and it solves all of my problems. It isn't like the Herbal Essences mousses, in that you can touch it. I can't stand having to just use the applicator and just let it go wherever it ends up. I love that with this product you can throw it in your palm, mush it between both hands, and work it in your locks.  One problem, well it's not really a "problem" but it is part of the range called Frizz-Ease, but it did nothing for my frizz issues. That's a minor negative for me because I did enjoy this product. As a whole, it worked well.

Make-Up

Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam- Air Infused Foundation                                       This foundation is very light and, well... Airy. It has a really light coverage which has been working well for me the past few months. It is only slightly buildable. If you need or want more of a solid coverage, you should avoid this product completely. I really liked how this applied, though I don't know how you would apply this with a brush. I always used my fingers as though it came out as a foam. One downside about this product was that the dispenser or where the product came out broke, I think. All of a sudden I went to use it one morning and it wouldn't come out. After pushing on it for quite a while, some product would trickle out as a liquid. I would get maybe four drops out of it. Then again, it could be just that it was close to empty.

NYC Smooth Skin-Pressed Face Powder
This powder was in transparent. It had no color though it would dull down the colors of my blush and bronzer if I put it on after them instead of before. It ended up breaking during a trip somewhere so I have retired it early. It made only a slight difference in how long my makeup would last in a day. I wouldn't always wear it because it just wasn't incredibly effective, I thought. I'm not going to repurchase this, I think it would make more sense to try a new kind.

Rimmel London-Match Perfection-Skin Tone Adapting Concealer
This concealer works so so so well for me. I have lots of red spot and often small acne marks. I don't get lots of pimples or other acne so I'm not sure how amazing this would be in that case, but for me, it was great. I used it to do some contouring and highlight, since it is a highlight and concealer together, but also for blemishes. It lightened beneath my eyes really well. For spots, I would sometimes have to reapply after a few hours, but that seems normal to me. I use shade 230, Fair/Light. Another really interesting thing about this concealer is that is has a small brush applicator. You do still need to blend it in. I've already bought a new tube!

Softlips-Vanilla
This lip balm has a really light vanilla taste. It works well, but not incredibly, to keep your lips moisturized. You do need to reapply often to have it at its best.

CO Bigelow Lemon Lip Balm
This is my favorite, favorite, favorite lip balm. I have been through 4 or 5 tubes. It is the most amazing lemon flavor. It has such a light creamy formula and works immediately when you put it on your lips. I will recommend this to anyone who has really dry lips, or just wants an incredible lip balm. Though, at $7.50 a pop, I find I use it quite sparingly. I already have a new one opened.

Something Like an Intro

So, I thought I should write something about what's kind of going on here...

I'm the kind of person who can't speak what they're feeling because I always over think things. I want to be able to express my feelings and I want anyone who comes across this blog to feel the same way. I hold lots of things in to protect everyone's feelings and that's why I made this; to be able to let things out and feel okay.

I want you all to feel completely safe here because I won't judge you. You can leave anything you want to in the comments and I will read it and respond. Thank you all so much.
